NASA’s Artemis II Completes Historic Lunar Flyby, Breaks Distance Record

NASA’s Artemis II mission has completed a historic ten-day lunar flyby, sending astronauts around the Moon aboard the Space Launch System. During the mission, Artemis II became the farthest crewed spaceflight in history, surpassing the distance record previously set by Apollo 13 decades earlier.

The mission’s re-entry capsule, named Integrity, splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean southwest of San Diego. The successful flight marks a major step in NASA’s broader push to return astronauts to the lunar surface in the coming years.
